What to expect:
Manual Osteopathic Treatment by a Classical Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (M.OMSc.) is gentle hands on approach to the body with specificity in every treatment to improve overall function and health within the body.
Treatment may include, and not limited to working through all layers of tissue from the fascial, muscular, ligamentous and even bony layers. Treatment is pain free and calming to the body by working with the nervous system to find health in the tissues by encouraging blood supply and opening drainage pathways. There is no technique in Osteopathic Care, instead different modalities (or tools) are used based on the structural and phsyiological need of the tissues and joints in question. These different modalities include lymphatic drainage, balanced ligamentous tension (BLT), cranial sacral, myofascial release (MFR), and much more.
The goal of Osteopathic Care is to get you feeling better for longer!
Why choose a Classically Trained Osteopathic Practitioner?

Your First Visit
Once your first appointment is booked at SMT Classical Osteopathy you will receive a detailed email prior to your scheduled appointment with a copy of the health consent form and full health history form. Completing this form prior to your initial consultation and first treatment will allow more time to discuss your health status and develop an appropriate treatment plan that best suits your needs. It is important to include all personal and medical history in your intake as the more information you share about your health, mind and body, the better we are able to help you in treatment.
When you arrive for your appointment, please remove your shoes at the door, use the hand sanitizer in the waiting room and wait for your practitioner to greet you at your scheduled appointment time.
What to Wear
Wear clothing you are comfortable moving in that can stretch as treatment involves movement of all joints through different ranges of motion. Preferably no jeans or skirts. There is a washroom down the hall that you may use to change before treatment if needed.
I received treatment from Sara during a very painful year of having frozen shoulder. The treatment not only helped reduce the pain, allowing me to sleep better and heal, but also greatly improved my range of motion. It also brought me back to better alignment when other parts of my body were compensating for the dysfunction. Sara also provided me with effective exercises that helped in between treatments.

I went to see Sara after dealing with issues for over a year from a car accident – whiplash. The treatment I received from Sara helped me greatly improve my overall range of motion and manage my neck, back, hip and knee pains without medication. Moreover, her advice for both daily activities and different sports activities that I am engaged in has been very valuable to minimize soreness and injuries.

I have to admit, I was skeptical, but after only a few sessions, I am hooked. Sara performs magic. I always feel much better after leaving her office. I highly recommend her!

I was having Knee issues from a torn LCL and Intestinal issues when I went to see Sara. She was able to dramatically improve my knee issues to the point where I was not having pain anymore, and she significantly improved my digestive problems. I highly recommend her for osteopathy treatments. She is kind and a true professional. Thanks Sara

I’ve been going to see Sara now for several months. She is knowledgeable, professional, and most of all caring. You know that she really wants to help you with what’s going on with your body. I have back, hip, neck and recently concussion issues and I always get relief when I see Sara. Amazingly she opened up my back in a way to benefit my lung function once because of a cough I had. The cough was not related to why I was seeing her.Within a day or two my cough was gone! I would recommend Sara to anyone interested in pain relief!

“I've done physio, chiropractic and massage therapy for my bad back, shoulder and neck. While it has all been helpful, nothing has worked the way Sara's healing touch does!!
